Safeguarding
It is the policy of the Association that all children and young people will be welcomed and valued in the
activities of the Association wherein they will find safeguards protecting them from sexual, physical and
mental abuse. For the majority of bell ringing (practices, service ringing, weddings etc.) the responsibility
for safeguarding is that of the individual PCC. Tower captains are advised to liaise with the parish
Safeguarding Co-ordinator to ensure that at all times ringers are working in harmony with parish child
protection policies.
The following documents have been produced by the Association to provide guidance for tower captains and to
describe the policy and procedures for safeguarding at association events.
