Quarter Peal WeekQuarter Peal week is approaching. Last year we rang lots of quarters, including several firsts, and finished with a grand night out at Woodlands, Keele.Details and forms have been distributed to all towers and forms should have been returned by 30th April. However, if you have found that you are available or want to ring a quarter, please email or ring Phil Gay. (See the Officers page for Phil's email address.) |
6-Bell Striking ContestOn Saturday the 5th May Keele was the place to be. Nine teams competed in our six bell Striking Contest and a cast of thousands (well about 50) enjoyed a tea at Woodlands afterwards.Stafford came first followed closely by Stoke and Stone. The Borret cup was awarded to Sandon. Our photograph shows Margaret Jones of Stafford receiving the Shield from our judge, Alan Burbidge. |

Norton and Biddulph MeetingOur April meeting was pulled forward a week to 31st March so as not to clash with Easter. Numbers were a little bit down due to it being the start of the school holidays, but we manged a nice touch of 8-spliced at Norton and the special methods at both towers. The "Bring and Share" tea worked well with plenty to share a bit to take home! |
Inkjet Cartridge RecyclingThe Association now has a recycling scheme for inkjet cartridges. We can take your old cartridges and then receive a payment for each one recycled. The money raised will be put into the bell Restoration fund. Please put your old cartridges in a leak-proof bag and hand them to any committee member. |
Olympic RingingAs you have probably noticed, the 2012 Olympic Games are being held in England. A special method has been designed by musician Howard Skempton to celebrate the olympics. Although a little different to our usual methods, it is pleasant and musical to ring. (But it does need a little practice.)It would be appropriate for a short piece of ringing for Olympic occasions throughtout the year. |
Learning to RingHave you ever considered learning to ring? Not sure where to start?Take a look at our towers page to find somewhere close to you and just call in on a Sunday or practice night. Or go to the officers page and drop an email to our secretary for further information. |
