June Striking Contest

This year's striking contest takes place at the new ring of six at Ipstones on Saturday June 3rd. Not only is this a picturesque moorlands village on the edge of the peak district, but it also now boasts a delightful new ring of six bells. So why not start practicing and enter your band.

Entries should be made to our Ringing master, Phil Michie, whose contact details are on our Officers page.

We have a ringing event for young ringers on Friday 1st June at Keele & Whitmore. The day is being organised by our Education Officer, Phil Gay, and all the details are on our Events pages.

The day will start with ringing on the six bells at Keele St John followed by lunch and ringing at Woodlands. After lunch there will be further ringing on the six bells at Whitmore.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding of children and young people is an important issue both at a tower and an association level. The Association has therefore appointed a Safeguarding Co-ordinator, produced guidelines for tower captains, and policies and procedures for association events.

Copies of the documents can be found on our Publications page. They can also be obtained from our Safeguarding Co-ordinator, Ros Daybell.

100 Club

The Association runs a '100 Club' to raise funds for the Bell Restoration Fund. The way it works is that members pay a subsciption of £12 and are entered in 5 draws in the year. There will be four prize draws, usually at business meetings, and one Superdraw at the Association's AGM. If fully subscribed the first prize will be £50 at the prize draws and £100 at the super draw.

So if you would like a flutter in aid of a good cause, please contact our 100 Club organiser, Chris Adams.
