Young Ringers' Day

We have a half-term ringing event for young ringers on Monday February 19th February in the Keele area. The day is being organised by our Education Officer, Phil Gay, and all the details are on our Events pages.

The day will start with ringing at Keele Parish church and will be followed by lunch at Woodlands, Keele. After lunch it is hoped to ring further at Madeley.

If you have young ringers who would be interested, please take at look at the details and let them know about this event. Click here for further information:   More...

Monthly Meeting - March 3rd

The light six at Caverswall is the venue for our monthly meeting on Saturday 3rd March. And we would like to put out a special invitation to all the new members we met at our February meeting to attend and have a ring on these easy going bells.

As well as the ringing, there will be one of the legendary Caverswall teas. So why not make a note of the date and join us there. All the details are on our events pages.

New Members Meeting

Nineteen of our members who joined in the last year, attended our new members' meeting at Eccleshall on Sat 3rd Feb. The first hour was reserved especially for new members and helpers, with general ringing and tea after that.

We also held one of our 100 Club draws with first prize going to Chris Wilde of Uttoxeter. (See the 100 club page for further details.)

Our thanks to the Eccleshall ringers for hosting the event and providing the tea.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding of children and young people is an important issue both at a tower and an association level. The Association has therefore appointed a Safeguarding Co-ordinator, produced guidelines for tower captains, and policies and procedures for association events.

Copies of the documents can be found on our Publications page. They can also be obtained from our Safeguarding Co-ordinator, Ros Daybell.

100 Club

The Association runs a '100 Club' to raise funds for the Bell Restoration Fund. The way it works is that members pay a subsciption of £12 and are entered in 5 draws in the year. There will be four prize draws, usually at business meetings, and one Superdraw at the Association's AGM. If fully subscribed the first prize will be £50 at the prize draws and £100 at the super draw.

So if you would like a flutter in aid of a good cause, please contact our 100 Club organiser, Chris Adams.
