Our 125th Anniversary dinner will be held at the Clayton Lodge
Hotel. Detailed arrangements are now in place, and a full page
display can be found in the October newsletter. The target we set
was to have 125 members and friends at the dinner to celebrate
our anniversary. That may seem a lot, but it's considerably less
than half of our membership, so it's not unrealistic. I can
remember a time when one of our bands used to hire a minibus to
come to the dinner, so that no-one had to drive. And they had to
pass our house on the way, and often had space for two extra.
Happy days! The guest speaker is Barry Peachey, who is well known
for his perceptive articles on the way he develops his learners.
He also once had a method named after his dog, but that's another
story. The hotel bar does not normally serve real ale, but they
have agreed to get a barrel from one of our local breweries, and
I have guaranteed that it will all be consumed on the night. But
even I am not capable of doing that without a little help from my
friends, so make sure you are there!

Chocolate mousse served with a mango coulis

in brackets which follows each item in the menu eg B 3 Z
