The Association consists of Patrons, Honorary Life Members,
Ringing Members, and Associate Members, who shall all reside in,
or are active ringers at towers in the geographic area of the
Archdeaconry of Stoke-on-Trent. There shall also be Non-Resident
Life Members.
Ringing membership is open to those who can ring either 120
half-pull changes of doubles or cover with the tenor bell for not
less than 120 half-pull changes, or demonstrate that he or she is
progressing in the art of change ringing to the satisfaction of
the committee. Anyone who is unable to fulfil these requirements
is eligible for Associate Membership. Life Membership may be
conferred on members in recognition of outstanding service to the
Association.
Members may be proposed, seconded, and elected at any General
Business Meeting by a majority of votes of the members present.
Membership becomes effective on payment of subscription.
Suggestions for Honorary Life Membership should be referred to
the Committee which may bring a formal proposal to a General
Business Meeting.
Members may be elected prior to taking part in a peal attempt
provided that at least half of those about to ring are members of
the Association. Such elections are subject to confirmation at
the next General Business Meeting. The proposer and seconder of
such members shall be resident members of the Association and be
responsible for sending the names, addresses, and subscriptions
of the new members to the Honorary Treasurer as soon as possible.
